Youth Counselling

Youth Counselling in Squamish & Online

Adolescence is a time of growth, discovery, and challenge. It’s common for young people to feel overwhelmed by emotions, identity questions, or social pressures—and they don’t always know how to talk about it.

Counselling offers a space where youth can explore what’s going on internally with the support of a trusted adult who listens without judgment. Whether your teen is struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, school stress, or family dynamics, therapy can help them build emotional resilience and self-awareness.

How Counselling Can Help

  • Manage anxiety, overwhelm, and emotional ups and downs

  • Build healthy coping strategies and self-esteem

  • Navigate peer relationships and family conflict

  • Explore identity and big life questions

  • Feel more grounded, confident, and connected to themselves

My Approach with Youth

I create a warm, safe environment where teens can feel seen and heard. My approach is collaborative, respectful, and trauma-informed—never forcing, always guiding.

We might talk, reflect, explore body-based tools for managing emotions, or use creative approaches depending on your teen’s comfort level. I draw on both somatic practices and attachment theory to help them better understand themselves and their patterns.

Parents are included in the process as needed and appropriate, with respect for the youth’s growing independence and privacy.

Is Youth Counselling Right for Your Teen?

Counselling can be helpful if your teen is:

  • Experiencing anxiety, sadness, or stress

  • Struggling with friendships or peer dynamics

  • Going through big changes or family transitions

  • Feeling unsure of who they are or where they belong

  • Acting out or withdrawing in ways that concern you
